Asphalt Driveway Installation
A brand new asphalt driveway, from layout and excavation to stone base and fresh pavement.
Paving ยท Homeowners
When a driveway is past patching, we take out what failed, fix the base under it and pave it new. The result is a smooth, dark driveway that drains the right way.

About driveway paving
Cracks that spread like a spider web, low spots that hold water, and edges breaking off into the lawn can point to drainage, pavement or base problems. Sealing or patching won't fix that. We remove the old surface, repair or rebuild the base, and pave a new driveway on solid ground.
Repaving is also the moment to fix what always bothered you: widen the parking area, smooth out a dip at the garage, or reshape the apron where it meets the street.
The job, step by step
We find out why the old driveway failed, so the new one doesn't repeat it.
The old surface is removed and hauled away.
Soft spots are dug out and the base is regraded and compacted.
New hot mix is laid and rolled, with clean edges and tie-ins.
Before and after

Sometimes. If the old asphalt is sound with only surface wear, an overlay can work. If the base has failed, paving over it just copies the cracks into the new surface, so we remove it first.
We plan the finished height before we start. Where a garage slab, walkway or street sets the height, we remove material so the new surface meets it cleanly.
Keep heavy vehicles off for the first week or two, avoid turning the wheels while parked, and plan a first sealcoat once it has cured, usually within the first year or two.
